A common issue in the industry relates directly to the tag on your car. Most clients find this out the hard way when they receive a notice from the DMV stating a fine that is due or a notice that their license has been suspended.
This is an easy fix & is very preventable. This industry has taught us that other insurance carriers & agents are not always providing this information to clients. SO….how can this be prevented? Great question!
If you sell your car, DO NOT call your insurance carrier/agent to remove the car from your policy until your license plate/tag has been turned in to the DMV. That’s it! Easy right?
If you plan to transfer the tag to another car, such as trading in a vehicle for a new vehicle, we recommend not removing the traded in car until the tag is transferred, a best practice!
